Gillette Stadium

Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts — serving the greater Boston area — is home to the NFL's New England Patriots and the New England Revolution of MLS. As the first NFL stadium to also house an MLS team, Gillette has been hosting top-level soccer for over two decades. For World Cup 2026, this venue will bring international football to one of America's most historic and sports-obsessed regions. Boston's passionate sports culture, combined with its large Irish, Brazilian, and Portuguese communities, will create a uniquely New England matchday experience.

Stadium History

Opened in 2002 alongside the adjacent Patriot Place shopping and entertainment complex, Gillette Stadium has witnessed the greatest dynasty in NFL history — the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick Patriots — with six Super Bowl championships. The Revolution have played here since the venue opened, and the stadium has hosted numerous MLS Cup finals, international friendlies, and CONCACAF Gold Cup matches.

Did You Know?

The stadium features a lighthouse and bridge replica in one end zone — a nod to New England's maritime heritage. After every Patriots touchdown, the lighthouse fires off celebratory effects. During Revolution matches, the space beneath the lighthouse is converted into a standing supporters' section known as 'The Fort.'
