MetLife Stadium
MetLife Stadium is the crown jewel of the 2026 World Cup, hosting the final on July 19. Located in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, just 8 miles from Midtown Manhattan, it's the largest stadium in the New York metropolitan area. The venue regularly hosts NFL games for the New York Giants and New York Jets, and its proximity to New York City β the world's media capital β makes it the ideal stage for the most-watched sporting event on the planet. The stadium underwent significant upgrades for the World Cup, including expanded premium seating, enhanced media facilities, and improved fan zones in the surrounding complex.
Stadium History
Opened in 2010 at a cost of $1.6 billion, MetLife Stadium was built to replace the aging Giants Stadium.
